Intro / Workout day 1

Hi!!  This is my first post in my new "Workout" blog.  I'm a mother of 2 beautiful boys tying to shed the extra weight that I've put on in the past 2 years.  It doesn't help when I spend my evenings pigging out on junk food but as of Today that's going to stop.


I plan on working towards a weight loss goal of approx 30 - 40 lbs.  I know that it will be hard work but I'm determined to get rid of this "mommy pooch".  To be honest with you, I've always had the pooch.  My oldest boy is 11 years old.  It was always the part of my body that I disliked the most, especially when I was buying clothes.  In recent years, it's gone from a pooch to a fully on Belly!!  I look like I could be at least 6 months pregnant (No word of a lie). 


This morning I walk/ran for 30 mins with my neighbour and her daughter.  We go to talking yesterday and she said that they had started the walk to run program.  Funny cause I was just telling my friend that "Today" I was going to start working out.  That I was going to get up at 6am and run or go to the Gym and run.  I stayed up till 1:30 am and if I hadn't received the "wakeup" text this morning I think I would have made up the "I was too tired" excuse.  But we did it.  We walked for 8 ran for 4 and so on.  It was a good workout and I was very proud of myself. 

I know that losing weight and keeping it off will be a challange for me and I especially need to change my eating habbits.  But for now one thing at a time.  I'll incorporate excercise into my daily routine and then we will work from there.

I would like to maybe even post some before and after pictures as a little picture diary of my changing body ~ We'll see.
